“Having courage is having fun!” That is Johannes Warth’s motto. Werner Fohrer also showed courage when he used the new medium Internet as the basis for his art for the first time. Together, they were guests at the first STAR Insight event of 2017.
Courage in all its forms: happy, free or daring
For the first STAR Insight impulse talk, Johannes Warth had come to Böblingen especially from beautiful Oberschwaben. So it was no wonder that his entertaining but also contemplative remarks were filled with anectdotes and wisdoms from his Oberschwaben home. In the original dialect, of course. Supported by music, juggling acts and Magic tricks, he gave the invited guests courage – in all respects. Courage, to swim against the stream. To question oneself from time to time. To take chances. To have trust. Or to start from scratch, too. He knows from experience that this can work also in a business life.
Classic technique meets high-tech
With the openness just achieved, the STAR Insight guests entered the evening’s second part. Esslingen-based artist Werner Fohrer was waiting for them in the Green Salon with his exhibition “Turn of Times”. While working, he often was asking himself: “Ist this the reality I perceive subjectively?” Or maybe the ovjective truth after all. On his quest for answers, he combined digital images and Vvdeos from screens with classic painting techniques and materials. The result is an impressive collection of modern pieces of art. Many of his objects stem from rock concerts he has visited. And so, the American singer Pink is situated in large format next to an entirely unknown passer-by caught on Google Streetview in STAR COOPERATION’s premises.
STAR Insight 2: the world is a canvas
Street is also the key for the next STAR Insight event on 11 May 2017 in Sindelfingen. Then, everything will revolve around “Street Art – the world is a canvas”. With us will be BMX star Chris Böhm, graffiti artist Simon Löchner and the musicians of OsCaVa unplugged music.
