The STAR COOPERATION is enhancing its already broad offering of interface cards for connecting automotive bus systems with test bench computers: FlexCard PMC II now comes with a CAN-FD extension for universal use in day-to-day testing.

Due to developing the CAN-FD expansion for FlexCard PMC II, STAR’s Experts for Automotive Electronics can now offer the fitting interface card for every requirement. The card, with its PMC format, has eight bus interfaces that can be utilized flexibly with plug-in bus driver modules. So far, these were available for CAN-HS, Ethernet and FlexRay, while the card’s capabilities are again enhanced by this CAN-FD extension.

Each CAN-FD extension module comes with two CAN-FD transceivers with a maximum data rate of 5 Mbit/s for CAN-FD transceiver. The applicable mode can be set up very easily within the card’s driver, in which both the ISO as well as the non-ISO mode are supported due to compatibility reasons.

For all the card’s bus interfaces (CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet), a highly precise and synchronised time stamp is generated with a resolution of a microsecond. For example, this enables the user to play the log data of different bus systems generated with this method with chronological synchronism. As before, it is possible to synch several FlexCards PMC II through one trigger inlet. Also, connecting BroadR-Reach networks works smoothly via an external adapter.
