The year 2016 was a special one for Hannover Messe. One of the biggest and most important industrial trade shows in the world could not just break its own visitor record once again and even achieve an increase in the international audience of 25 percent. The security measures did also not compare to the previous years’. No wonder, for the USA was this year’s partner country and invited none other than the outgoing President Barack Obama for the official opening ceremony together with Chancellor Merkel.

Industry 4.0 reaches factory halls

Integrating products, people and machines as well as the necessary technologies and processes were one of the traditional focus points at Hannover Messe. This year, the exhibitors’ presentations revealed especially how close our industrial companies have already come to practically introducing those technologies into their factory halls. „It is very impressive that you can make a robot hand turn a page in a book even over a long distance with the help of an integrated glove,” Carolin Stickel, Manager New Mobility at the STAR COOPERATION, recounted her trade fair tour.

MobiliTec is center for future mobility solutions

However, Carolin Stickel spent most of the week’s time at the STAR stall within MobiliTec, the mobility center of the trade show’s second focus point Integrated Energy. There, the experts for New Mobility together with their new partner Fraunhofer IAO and 42 other exhibitors from South-West Germany formed the Baden-Württemberg Pavilion. They presented their portfolio around e-mobility, car sharing and intermodal mobility solutions to more than 3,000 visitors from the industry, among them many international business delegations. Political leaders were also present and saw the capability of the innovation motor Baden-Württemberg for themselves. Among them were Günther Oettinger, EU Commissioner for Digital Economy & Society as well as Nils Schmid, State Minister for Finances and Economy in Baden-Württemberg.

New partner raises much interest

„We were able to introduce the partnership we just formed with Fraunhofer IAO together with Dr. Florian Herrmann to the public. For us, that was obviously the highlight,” Carolin Stickel was happy. „Through this new cooperation, we met lots of interesting people and had great conversations that we want to deepen and drive further in the aftermath.” Dr. Florian Herrmann revealed in a short interview (German only) how he sees the partnership with the STAR COOPERATION and the mobility’s path into the future. „Overall, we are very satisfied with our presence and are already looking forward to the next Hannover Messe,” Carolin Stickel summed up the five days of Hannover Messe.
